General FAQs 

Do I need to refrigerate my cake?

Generally our cakes are best at room temperature and we recommend refrigerating up until about 2 to 3 hours before service. If the location will be on the cooler side, the cake may need to sit out longer.

Ideal temperatures for serving most of our cakes are between mid 70s to low 80s (Fahrenheit).

If you order a cake filled with pastry cream or filled/frosted with whipped cream, refrigerate until you are ready to serve it. Some of our products don't require refrigeration at all, including our bundt cakes and Italian almond cakes. Please ask us what we recommend for your cake. 

When do I need to place my special order?

For most basic items we ask for a minimum of 3 to 5 days advance notice, however this can change depending on what we are already currently working on.

For more intricately designed, bigger sizes, different shapes, or larger orders of cakes & other desserts we ask for a minimum of a week's notice.

When we already have a high volume of orders for a given day, we may not be able to accommodate additional orders that are: last minute, have elements/decoration that require longer drying and hardening times, and/or are around major holidays.

But what if I want a cake for this afternoon or tomorrow?

We do have a variety of cakes in our display cake during the week however, we do slice into the larger ones as people purchase a slice so whole cakes are available on a first come, first served basis. 

My event is on a Sunday/Monday but you're closed; do I have to pick up my cake on Saturday?

We are closed to the public on Sundays & Mondays. For Sundays, yes the order would need to be picked up on the Saturday before.

For Mondays, depending on what the order is, pick up may be a possibility between 10am and 2pm. Please check with the staff beforehand to see if that is an option.

Do you have more pictures in your store? I only see a few on the website.

Not at this time. If you are interested in something specific, let us know (email preferred) and we can discuss what is possible. 

Yes, we have extensive albums at our store for you to look through. 

The pictures you see online are just a small sampling of our work.

Can I email or bring in a picture of a cake I want?

Yes, please provide a picture of the decoration/color/theme of the cake you would like & we will let you know if we are able to make a similar design and provide you an estimated cost within a few days. 

We do not make exact replicas of the cakes pictured for various reasons.  

If you absolutely must have a cake that is exactly the same as the picture then you should go to the bakery that originally made that cake. 

Do you do designs with Disney or other trademarked characters?

No. A bakery has to sign an agreement and pay licensing fees to legally reproduce trademarked characters, we have not done so and therefore are legally unable to make licensed character cakes. 

But I simply MUST have Disney! What can you do?

We can often utilize the colours & themes of the characters and include elements of those in the design/decoration. Another option for you is to bring in small figurines and we will incorporate them into the finished design.

I don't like fondant, can you make the cake without that?

It will depend on what you want for decoration. Some designs will require the use of fondant to achieve a certain look, shape, etc. or if the cake will be somewhere sunny and hot, fondant will help keep the cake ship shape for a longer period of time. Melted buttercream is no one's friend.

Do you offer any Vegan items?

Yes, we have a few vegan options available. We have a selection of cakes as well as a vegan brownie and chocolate chip cookie. Most of these items are by special order only.

Do you have any sugar-free desserts?

No, we don't offer any sugar-free items at this time.

I have a specific food allergy; can your bakery accommodate my needs?

We do offer a selection of desserts that do not include items such as nuts or flour. However, these allergens & others are in our bakery and we cannot completely guarantee their absence in your dessert. Please let us know of your allergy when you place your order so we can be as careful as possible but we are unable to guarantee safety for those with the specific allergies. 

Does your bakery accept credit cards?

Yes, as well as local checks and cash.

Do you ship cakes?

No, we do not offer this service. Many of our cakes are too delicate to handle shipping without some damage. It requires specialized equipment such as dry ice and special shipping boxes which we do not have. 

Can I buy a slice of cake, or do you only sell whole cakes?

We can cut a slice from any of the 9" cakes in our display case. Come and pick up a slice of cake and a cup of Illy coffee or Stash tea!

Do you offer espresso?

Yes, we are now proudly offering Illy Espresso. 

Does your bakery have parking available?

Yes, but it is a tiny parking lot. There is also parking just around the corner available if our lot is full.
